a2vintage is a small family business. The owners Kelly and Anne Callison have a passion for rescuing old and forgotten stuff. They are avid collectors of old advertising and memorabilia. Kelly's mom Deb manages the shop and is the resident expert on all things music related. The shop is full of rock, jazz, and blues albums. In their "spare time" Kelly and Anne find raw materials and 'upcycle' them into furniture and art.
/verb [with object]
Reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.

The way people think about upcycling:
There used to be a stigma that needing to reuse something meant you could not afford new things. This is not true in today’s world. Historically, our grandparents and great-grandparents reused things because it was the smart thing to do: reweave cloth, rebuild using barn wood etc. It makes perfect sense! Today we also realize the positive impact that upcycling has on the environment. Upcycling is an important practice in decorating because it reduces waste. If you can take an item and convert it into something new, you have lowered both your trash output and your material intake. Is there really a need to buy something new when you can make it out of something you already have?
